  • One of the most-reviewed courses on the Gold Coast (1,894 Google reviews), so it sees plenty of play.

Emerald Lakes is an 18-hole, par 72 course designed by Graham Marsh, set in Carrara on the Gold Coast. The club describes it as challenging but forgiving, with wide fairways and generous greens, and the hole summaries on its site show five par 3s, eight par 4s and five par 5s. The 14th is billed as the signature hole and the 17th is the longest of the par 3s.

Golfers who have played it call it flat, well maintained and enjoyable, a good option for a social round, though one visitor found it boggy after heavy rain. Pace of play is a common worry: a reviewer who teed off mid morning had to walk off after 13 holes because groups were bunched up and no marshal moved things along, so allow plenty of time on busy days.

The club is a full complex rather than just a course. Alongside the 18 holes there is a driving range with a variety of targets, a coaching centre, a pro shop, a putt-putt course and a bistro and sports bar that also takes functions. Reviewers say the driving range is decent but a bit dearer than the nearby alternative. Rounds are booked online through MiClub, and the club lists cart and walking rates for 9 and 18 holes with weekday and weekend pricing. A collared shirt is required and thongs and singlets are not allowed. It suits social groups, families, beginners and anyone wanting range, mini golf and a meal in the one visit.
