Windaroo Lakes is an 18-hole, par 72 course (course rating 73) designed by Ross Watson, in Windaroo off the M1 roughly halfway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Water is a feature, and the 16th, known as Snake Gully, is a 437 metre par 4 with a double water carry. The Albert River runs beside the property. The club also has a separate par 3 course available to visitors on Thursday and Sunday afternoons for $25. Visitor green fees are lowest midweek, and booking online is slightly cheaper than paying at the club. Shared carts are $46 for 18 holes. Visitors must follow the dress code, which asks for a collared shirt, tailored shorts or slacks and golf socks. Facilities include a golf shop, a Trackman-powered Virtual Swing Lab for lessons, fittings and free play, professional coaching, and a restaurant and bar with a coffee shop overlooking the 18th. Nearly all the reviews supplied are about the dining rather than the golf: golfers and locals mention big portions, good steaks and pizza, moderate prices, friendly staff and a games room that keeps kids busy. The course view from the dining room is regularly mentioned. It suits value-minded golfers, social groups and families who want a meal after a round.
