  • At 5,600 m it's shorter than most 18-hole courses around Brisbane (typical 5,830 m).
  • Rated 4.2 on Google, about the typical 4.3 for courses around Brisbane.

Riverlakes is a flat, water-laden course inside Logandale Estate at Cornubia, completed in 1999. It is listed at par 70 and 5,600 metres. The Logan River runs along one edge and California Creek feeds a series of large lakes that cut across the layout, so the water shapes most of the strategy. Greens are Bermuda grass and the fairways and rough are Wintergreen Bermuda. The club notes 135 and 200 metre markers on the fairways, and the right side of the water at the 15th is out of bounds.

Golfers often describe it as short but challenging, with plenty of dogleg holes, creeks and trees, and warn that the rough eats balls. Greens are described as quick and sometimes hard to read, and fairways are usually well kept, though bunkers get regular criticism for needing fresh sand. Several reviewers call it good value for the price and a good test for amateurs and beginners.

Fees are $45 for 18 holes on weekdays and $51 on Fridays, weekends and public holidays, with nine-hole, junior and twilight walking rates. Carts are an extra $40 for 18 holes. Bookings are made online, and at least one reviewer was unhappy that weekend phone bookings are not taken. A few visitors have had friction with staff over pace of play and non-locals, while others praise the pro shop as friendly. There is a driving range that hits into a lake, a pro shop with coaching, and a tavern, bistro and function rooms that also host weddings. The clubhouse is described as functional rather than fancy. It suits golfers on a budget who like a water-heavy layout.

“Solid flat course meandering through light trees. Little short, but good lush conditions, plenty water hazards throughout, rough would eat balls, greens were nice. Little weatherboard pro shop with nice open eating area.”
