The Grand Golf Club is a private 18-hole golf club at Nerang in the Gold Coast hinterland, designed by Greg Norman. It is members-only, with visitors playing as guests of a member, and it hosted the 2001 Australian Open.
The Grand Golf Club is a Greg Norman design on Gilston Road at Nerang, at the foot of the Gold Coast hinterland and about 18 km from the beaches. It is a private, members-only club, and visitors play as guests of a member; there is no public green fee. The course first opened around 1990 but closed after a short time, and the club was relaunched in 1997 and hosted the 2001 Australian Open. Secondary sources give par 72 and lengths of roughly 6,100 to 6,200 metres from the back tees, although tee names and figures differ between listings, and the club's own pages did not state them. The club's site describes valet parking with no tee times, a golf shop, range facilities and a clubhouse. Reviewers who have played as guests praise the setting, the views, the conditioning and the food and drinks, and they note that joining is expensive: the current entrance fee is listed at $4,400 plus a share purchase, though one reviewer recalls a far higher joining fee in the past. Greg Norman's locker is still on display, according to one review. The dress code is smart casual on the course with belts and tucked collared shirts, and soft spikes. It suits golfers who know a member and want a high-end Gold Coast round.
