The site also has a clubhouse bar and restaurant and a 12-hole mini golf course.
St Lucia Golf Links is a public course on a bend of the Brisbane River in inner Brisbane, listed at 18 holes, par 69 and 5,411 metres. The club says the layout reflects the design principles of Alister MacKenzie, whose services were engaged in 1926. It is one of the few public courses close to the city, and it is busy as a result.
Golfers often describe the fairways as wide and forgiving, which makes it a good place for beginners and casual rounds, with a good mix of par 3s and some tricky holes. The ground is more hilly than you might expect, and a couple of reviewers recommend a motorised cart. Visible flood markers from 2011 are a talking point. Conditions get mixed reports: some golfers find it tidy and well signed, while others mention bad patches and unplayable greens at times and say bunkers are poor, and a few feel the fees are high for the condition.
Green fees are $44 for 18 holes Monday to Thursday and $53 Friday to Sunday, with nine-hole, junior and twilight rates. Carts are charged per person and private carts are not allowed on the course, but push carts and Callaway hire sets are available. Tee times are booked online through Quick18. The clubhouse is a Queenslander-style building with a bar and bistro, and reviewers like the beer selection and the putting corner by the coffee area, though food gets mixed comments. Alongside the golf there is a 12-hole mini golf course, a pro shop, a golf simulator and lessons. The venue is licensed, so BYO alcohol is not allowed. It suits beginners, families and anyone who wants a quick round close to the city.

“Very good course, the layout is super beginner friendly the fairways are proper wide. Priced really good too for what you are getting and as a result it's a pretty popular and busy spot. Regardless the game you play here at the course…”

“Ambiance and customer service was good. However, apart from the Vietnamese Chicken salad, we were underwhelmed by the food. I had a Diavola pizza and it was very basic. Dominos could have done better. And I would have saved myself a lot…”
