Overview

At a glance

Boomerang Hills (formerly Boomerang Farm) is a public nine-hole golf course at Mudgeeraba on the Gold Coast hinterland, with 18 different tees so a full round can be played. It sits on a working-farm style venue with a cafe, restaurant and function spaces, and is known for low green fees.

How it compares

Nine holes and quick
  • A round fits in about two hours.
  • Green fees from $40 for 18 holes, above the typical $37 on the Gold Coast (3 of the 6 nine-hole courses that publish visitor rates are cheaper).
  • One of the highest-rated courses on the Gold Coast on Google: 4.5 from 496 reviews (typical 4.4).

Boomerang Hills is a nine-hole course in the Mudgeeraba hinterland that plays as 18 holes by using a second set of tees on the way round. The longest hole is a 502 metre par 5, and golfers often mention that the par 5s are long and the walk is a good one, though there are some hills so a buggy suits those who prefer to ride. Reviewers also point to creeks and ponds coming into play and say there are no bunkers, which keeps it friendly for newer players while still asking for some thought off the tee.

The course is set among rainforest, bush and old farm buildings, and the scenery is the most common thing golfers praise. Many describe the price as good value compared with other Gold Coast courses, though one recent reviewer said prices rose after the venue changed hands and name, so check current rates before heading out. Conditions are generally described as good, with one visitor finding some greens affected by maintenance work.

The venue is much more than a golf course. There is a cafe and restaurant, a pro shop open seven days, function and wedding spaces, a mini golf green for kids and mountain bike hire. A reviewer mentioned a new pitch-and-putt style course opened in mid 2026, but we could not confirm that on the club's site. Tee times are booked online through MiClub, and an online booking special applies on 9 holes. It suits social groups, families, beginners and bucks or birthday outings where not everyone plays golf.
