Overview

At a glance

Tamborine Mountain Golf Club is a nine-hole course with 18 tees on Coomera Gorge Drive, Tamborine Mountain, in the Gold Coast hinterland. The club welcomes visitors and plays to par 70 over 18 holes from its multiple tees.

How it compares

Nine holes and quick
  • A round fits in about two hours.
  • Green fees from $50 for 18 holes, well above the typical $37 on the Gold Coast (5 of the 6 nine-hole courses that publish visitor rates are cheaper).
  • One of the highest-rated courses on the Gold Coast on Google: 4.6 from 147 reviews (typical 4.4).

This is a hinterland nine-hole course set up with 18 tees, so a full round plays the nine twice from different tees. The club lists par 70 and 5562 metres, which we've taken to be the combined 18-hole figure. There are three teeing areas, and the blue tees are the harder option. The greens are elevated bent grass.

Golfers rate it highly, with 4.6 stars across about 150 reviews. They talk about the best greens they have seen in South East Queensland, tidy fairways, smooth tee boxes and a course superintendent who obviously cares. Many say it is fairly challenging for nine holes and good for all levels. The vibe is relaxed and staff are described as friendly, and social clubs have enjoyed the food and service.

Guests are always welcome. Visitor rates are $50 for 18 holes and $35 for nine, with juniors $12 for 18. Carts are $40 for 18 on weekdays and $50 on weekends, and clubs can be hired for $15. The page doesn't say how to book, so call (07) 5545 1788. The clubhouse has food and a bar, and the pro shop gives lessons. It suits golfers wanting a cooler, quieter mountain round.
